Robert was Director of the ISIS facility at the STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, UK from 2012 to 2021. ISIS is a world-leading centre for research in the physical and life sciences. Its suite of neutron and muon instruments gives unique insights into the properties of materials on the atomic scale. Robert graduated and received his PhD from Oxford University and was a Royal Society research fellow and lecturer there until 1992.
