Biomedical Science Day 2019, held on the 20th of June, celebrates biomedical science research across the world. Organised by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), the annual event aims to inform the public about biomedical science and celebrating a profession that is at the heart of healthcare.

In a series of interviews, ISIS Neutron and Muon Source celebrates the scientists behind bioscience research at the facility. More information is available from IBMS about the awareness day​.

  • Amrin Pathan
    Amrin is a sandwich student studying Molecular Biology at University College London. She is working as a Biology Lab Method Developer for a year as part of her degree.
  • Genoveva Burca - IMAT Instrument Scientist
    I am working on identifying and implementing new applications of neutron imaging by initiating and developing interdisciplinary projects which bring together scientists from different fields.
  • Luke Clifton
    I deliver a science programme in the area of bio-membranes undertaking scattering measurements to examine structure.
  • Victoria Garcia Sakai
    Victoria is an neutron instrument scientist studying how molecular dynamics control the properties and functions of soft and biological materials.
