Consumable requests
UK Principal Investigators awarded beamtime at ISIS or ILL may apply for funding support towards consumables required for experimental samples.
UK Principal Investigators awarded beamtime at ISIS or ILL can apply for a contribution to cover chemical consumables directly related to sample preparation:
- Up to £1200 per proposal (capped)
- Up to £3,000 per proposal (capped) may be awarded, provided a strong and clearly evidenced justification is submitted for the additional amount.
- A maximum of £4800 per proposal round applies per research group (capped)
All claims must include a clear justification of need, and only consumables essential to sample preparation are eligible — routine laboratory materials, equipment, or staff costs are excluded. Contact the ISIS support laboratories team to check ISIS laboratory chemical stocks.
All claims should be submitted in advance of the experiment, but can also be submitted within three months of the experiment. After this time, claims will not be accepted.
