The three different differential scanning calorimeters are housed in the instrument room in the second target station (TS2) and in the ISIS Hydrogen and Catalysis Laboratory.
1. Mettler Toledo DSC1
The Mettler Toledo DSC1 is located in the instrument room, located on the west side of TS2 (R80). The DSC1 is a fully automated thermal analysis instrument for investigating enthalpic changes in your samples.
Operating range from -150 to 700 °C
Liquid nitrogen cooling system for low temperature measurements

2. TA Instruments DSC Q2000
The TA Instruments DSC Q2000 is located in the instrument room, located on the west side of TS2 (R80). The DSC Q2000 is the second of our two research-grade thermal analysis instruments in the instrument room.
Operating range from ambient to 450 °C (manual cold loading is possible)
Nitrogen & helium purge gas
Pre-programmed or entirely user-defined experimental methods
Thermal Advantage Platinum software for ease-of-use

3. Netzsch Jupiter F3
The Netzsch Jupiter F3 is located in the Hydrogen and Catalysis Laboratory, located in R79. The Jupiter F3 is a high performance, high temperature thermogravimetric analysis instrument, with thermo-microbalance and differential scanning calorimetry capabilities.
Operation from ambient to 1500 °C
Flow control for gas dosing
Can be used with corrosive gases; ammonia gas available
Mass spectrometer available
