I am part of the team that is bringing helium recovery to ISIS, I’m also involved in the ISISSTAT cryogen free cryostat development and working towards improved ultra-low temperature systems at ISIS.

I am the deputy team leader of the cryogenic team at ISIS; I did a 4 year apprenticeship at UKAEA Harwell where I trained as an instrument maker, I then moved to Oxford Instruments for 6 years where I was involved in the build, test, commissioning and installation of many varied cryogenic systems, from there I moved to A.S scientific for 13 years providing a similar role with more emphasis on fault diagnosis and solutions on occasion internationally.

I have been at ISIS for nearly 10 years now and have amassed knowledge of sample environment techniques and support of all cryogenic experiments; my main involvement is with high profile equipment like dilution refrigerators and super conducting magnets across the ISIS facility.
